Dr. Carl Musser, Medical Director of the Electrophysiology Lab for Carilion Clinic's Cardiovascular Institute, Offers New Pacemaker System
Carilion Clinic offers the newest pacemaker technology for our patients. Dr. Carl Musser is the first in the region to provide the new Abbott Aveir leadless pacemaker system. This system offers all the clinical benefits of traditional pacemaker delivered entirely within the heart with no visible scarring, no lead or pocket-related complications and no arm movement restrictions post-implantation. For a technology that has remained largely unchanged for decades, Aveir is a groundbreaking, new approach.

First Transvesical Prostatecomy in our Region!

It was done using the single-port da Vinci robot, a minimally invasive technique that results in fewer incisions and a quicker recovery time. Carilion’s Urology team continues to lead the way in offering cutting-edge treatments. Visit the Urology page on our website to learn more about our Urology team.
