Our Roanoke campus received the Focused Verification designation for quality from the American College of Surgeons—one of only 17 health systems nationwide to receive that honor.
Four of our community hospital leaders were named among 110 Rural Hospital and Health System CEOs to Know 2024 by Becker's Hospital Review:

- Greg Madsen, CEO of CRBH and VP of our Eastern Division
- Kristie Williams, CEO and VP of CGCH and CTCH
Education and Organizational Development won a Training Apex award from Training Magazine, ranking 42nd among 106 organizations for the scope and effectiveness of their programs.
Five Carilion offices earned gold certification in this year's Greening the Office Sustainability initiative.

The VAPP committee recognized several units for their ventilator-associated-pneumonia prevention efforts in 2023:
- 7SPCU, 7MPCU, 8MPCU and 10MPCU for being VAP and IVAC free
- 6SICU, 6MICU and 10MICU for being VAP free
- 9SPCU and 9MPCU for being IVAC free
- 8MICU and 7SCCU for maintaining oral care compliance at 90%
