What You Need To Know About Phishing

Submitted by abshaver on

Have you ever received a phishing email?

Chances are, you have. Over the past month we’ve blocked 17,454 messages sent to Carilion email addresses that had malicious links or attachments.

Phishing emails are not always easy to spot. In August, we sent a “test phish” to all Carilion employees, and 41 percent clicked on the link within the email. Of the 41 percent who clicked on the link, 80 percent entered their credentials. It only takes one person falling for a phish to allow cybercriminals to access our network – which is why we must stay vigilant.

Carilion History: How It All Began

Submitted by ktcork on

Carilion is not an overnight success story. Our roots run deep in the region, touching generations of families in the Roanoke and New River Valleys and beyond.

If the system is best represented as a tree, then Roanoke Hospital Association (RHA) is the trunk of that tree.

RHA was founded in the late 1800s to help raise funds for building Roanoke’s first hospital. As a result of RHA’s efforts, Roanoke Hospital—which is today CRMH—was chartered in 1899 and opened in 1900.
