Great Catch

Back in the Spring of 2022, Community Health and Outreach was providing Sun Safety education at weekly Walk and Talks throughout our service area. During one of these walks a flex staff member, Chris Maxwell, noted an oddly shaped mole on a participant’s leg. At the end of the walk Chris approached the participant and highly encouraged them to visit their physician or dermatologist as soon as possible to get the area checked. The participant acknowledged Chris’s concern and accepted her advice. Fast forward to 2023, Chris ran into the participant within the community, and was able to ask about the suspicious mole. The participant had been diagnosed with melanoma, received treatment, and is doing well thanks to Chris’s education and encouragement to seek treatment. Thank you Chris for this Great Catch!
