The Institutional Review Board (IRB) Protocol Management team is pleased to announce the appointment of Meredith Talmadge, RHIT, CIP, as the new Director of the Carilion Clinic Human Research Protections Office (HRPO). Ms. Talmadge was selected for this position after a regional and national search following the departure of the prior director in early August 2022.
Meredith is well known to many investigators, having served for 15 years as the IRB Regulatory Affairs Administrator for full board reviews of investigator-initiated projects involving human subjects. Previously, Meredith worked as a research coordinator in Norfolk, and with Health Information Management at Carilion Clinic.
