Pharmacists Recognized at State Level

The Virginia Society of Health System Pharmacy (VSHP) Fall Seminar took place last week in Williamsburg, VA.  Two Carilion pharmacists received annual awards for their outstanding work over the past year:   

• VSHP Pharmacist of the Year: Megan Goodwin, PharmD, BCPS
  • Megan was recognized for successfully establishing a Technician Training Program at Carilion and positively impacting (reducing) the number of open technician positions through this innovative program!  A lot of hard work has been put in to make this program successful. 
• VSHP Clinical Pharmacy Practice Achievement Award:  Lauren McDaniel, PharmD, BCIDP
  • Lauren was recognized for her accomplishments over the past year related to grant-funded research leading to improving C. diff treatment and internal research leading to mandatory ID consults for S. aureus and Candidemia patients.
