Lori Bodzioney (pictured 2nd from left) has been chosen as this year’s winner of the Virginia Academy of Sleep Medicine Technologist Award. This award recognizes a VASM technologist for their exemplary service and contribution to the polysomnographic profession. She will be recognized on Friday, November 4th during the VASM Annual Conference.

Lori has been a dedicated employee of Carilion Clinic over the past 4 decades with her last 19 years focusing on Sleep Medicine. Throughout her sleep career, she has held a variety of positions including night sleep technologist, day sleep technologist and for the past 8 years she has served as the clinical leader for our sleep lab and physician clinic at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital (CRBH). During her time at CRBH, Lori has led a small, yet passionate, team to provide exemplary services to a rural community which often struggles with obtaining specialty care services. She has served as a role model for other technologists at the local level and throughout Carilion Clinic’s overarching Sleep Medicine Program.

Lori will be retiring in November of 2022, leaving a legacy of a strong sleep program that will continue to serve our community.
