Fall Prevention Deserves Attention!

Submitted by mdcoles on

Hello everyone,

Please help me to recognize the hard work of the staff who have/are working the following units for their dedication to falls prevention.

At the end of the FY 20/31 units outperformed the internal benchmark for falls:

10M ICU, 10M PCU, 10S Onc, 10S Palliative, 12W PCU, 6M ICU, 6S ICU, 6W CCDU, 7M PCU, 7S PCU, 8M ICU, 8M PCU, 8S ICU, 9M ICU, 9M PCU, 9W, 9S ICU, 9S PCU, NICU, and PICU

22/31 units outperformed the NDNQI benchmark:

10M ICU,10M PCU, 10S Oncology, 10 S Palliative, 12W PCU, 5W, 6M ICU, 6S ICU, 6W CCDU, 7M PCU, 7S PCU, 8M ICU, 8M PCU, 8S ICU, 9M ICU, 9M PCU, 9S ICU, 9S PCU, NICU, Peds, and PICU

Six units had an internal rate of 50% or greater that was lower than the internal benchmark:

10M ICU, 10S Palliative, 6M ICU, 8M PCU, 8S ICU, and 9M ICU

Three units had zero falls:

NICU, 6S ICU and 8M ICU

10 West and 12 West have maintained a consistent reduction in their falls over the past three years;35.8-47.15%. This is quite an accomplishment.

Thank you all for everything you do to keep our patients safe!
