A Shout out to Madison Brown, R.N.

Madison recently spoke with very engaged nursing students at Virginia Western and shared with them the rewards of being a nurse here at Carilion. Madison joined us in our resource pool as a patient care tech while she was in college. After graduating from Radford University in 2021, she came on board in our PCU at CRMH because, in her words: "I felt that I could really grow my knowledge and skills there as a brand new nurse! I could not have chosen a better floor to really grow my critical thinking and physical nursing skills. I also made so many friends and felt so supported my first year."

Through the leadership opportunities and the experiences she had on the PCU, over a year later, she was able to recently advance her career and fuel her passion for children to the Pediatric ICU at RMH.

"If it wasn't for the solid foundation I had on the PCU, I would not be where I am today!," Madison said.
