Happy Trauma Registry Professionals Day!

Submitted by ocwalker on

Trauma Registrars are vital to providing care as key members of our Trauma Team. Trauma Registrars are responsible for medical record analysis, data abstraction, performance improvement initiatives, and overall data management specific to the trauma patient population. In addition to their skills with data analytics, these individuals must have a strong command of medical terminology and human anatomy and physiology in assuring accuracy and consistency of data. They also provide staff support for the Trauma Program Director, Trauma Coordinator, and Performance Improvement Specialist as the data they collect helps to guide decisions in injury prevention programs and performance improvement initiatives throughout our community and organization. Their commitment to this complex patient population shows their dedication to Carilion's mission and to the patients we serve.
