Carilion embraces diversity at Roanoke's 30th annual PRIDE Festival this weekend
A team of eight Carilion staff members volunteered their Sunday to share Carilion's support of the LGBTQ+ community at Roanoke's 30th annual PRIDE Festival yesterday. The volunteers are members of Carilion's LGBTQ+ ERG, and are passionate about providing a voice for the LGBTQ+ community. The Carilion table included information about a free breast health screening day in August for people in the LGBTQ+ community in addition to information about Carilion's non-discrimination policy. Carilion volunteers organized Carilion's presence at the event and engaged with festival attendees throughout the day.
Thanks to the following Carilion volunteers for taking time out of their weekend to promote Carilion's services and to help members of the LGBTQ+ community know they have a safe place to go for care: Sharoni Davis, Angela Nardecchia, Phil Hobrla, Lauren Lawson, Robin WIlliamson, Sara Kagarise, Vanessa Bradley, and Heather Millar.
