Expanded Access to Urgent Care in Roanoke
Additional exam rooms and support space at VelocityCare offers improved access to care.
Partly due to COVID-19 pandemic needs and general population growth in our region, the demand for urgent care access continues grow in our region. By Dec. 15, VelocityCare located at 4035 Electric Road in Roanoke will add 2,739 square feet to our existing facility. The new space will inhabit the previous Parisi Speed School location once owned by Carilion Wellness.
The expansion will include four additional exam rooms and a treatment room for procedures such as simple laceration repairs, abscess incision and drainage. New support space will include lab services, a nurse workstation and break area. The larger lab will offer additional space for specimen processing.
“The new addition will help to alleviate volume from the CRMH emergency department for non-emergent needs,” said Kim Roe, vice president of Family and Community Medicine. “In addition to virtual visit access, increasing on-site exam space improves our efficiency and ability to provide timely patient-centered care.”
