Online Scheduling Available for Mammograms

A new feature in MyChart will offer convenience to our patients and help make processes easier for our staff.

Starting Wednesday, Sept. 15, we’ll be expanding our online services to allow patients to schedule mammograms directly through MyChart.

This service will allow new and current patients to make appointments on their own time while on the go or after office hours. It will be piloted at our Imaging locations on S. Jefferson Street and Peters Creek Road in Roanoke, as well as our Daleville site.

“Allowing patients to schedule, change or cancel their appointment saves time for our patients and staff, and frees phone lines to answer patient questions,” said Steve Morgan, M.D., senior vice president and chief medical information officer.

And on Nov. 7, we will roll out online scheduling at most pediatric and family medicine locations.

To schedule an appointment online, patients simply:

• Log in to MyChart
• Select Visits
• Click on Schedule an Appointment

A MyChart account can be instantly activated when the patient contacts their provider’s office. An email will be sent to them to verify their identity, with an activation link that will remain live for 24-hours.

“The convenience of online scheduling further enhances efforts to build a digital front door to our services,” said Dr. Morgan. “Through MyChart, we already offer online access to health records, bill pay and care team messaging. Patients can also opt for virtual visits and receive text appointment reminders. We continue to partner with our patients for efficient care delivery.”
