Healing Arts Event Series: Healing the Essential Soul
We all have something to express! Sharing our thoughts and feelings through art is a powerful way to support our healing—in service of ourselves and our patients.
In collaboration with Community Health and Outreach, the Dr. Robert L.A. Keeley Healing Arts Program launched the Healing the Essential Soul event series in 2021. This series offered opportunities for employees and their friends and family to reflect on and express aspects of their own healing journey through the arts. We are excited to be able to offer this program again in 2022!
We will gather at the Morningside Urban Farm on Friday evenings through the summer for an outdoor coffee-shop-style gathering. You are invited to share original art, including visual art, creative writing, poetry, movement or music. Light refreshments will be provided. Events will be facilitated by our artist-in-residence, Bryan “Harvest Blaque” Hancock.
A general theme will be given to provide inspiration for each event, though participants are not limited to creating around that theme. Whether you choose to share your own work or support your colleagues as a witness, please join us for a meaningful, enlivening and connective experience!

As part of this programming, participants may choose to submit their work for inclusion in the Healing Arts collection, a growing repository of artistic expressions, which may be shared in various ways to help facilitate healing in health care or community contexts.
