Literature Review Summary or Evidence Analysis Submission Guidelines

The summary (1,000 words) should include the following:

Title:

• Please be sure to include the complete title of your article when you submit the article below.

Background: (problem, purpose, or PICOT question)

• Describe the problem including relevant background information.
• Explain why this is a problem for nursing, the workforce, the patient & consumer and/or the organization.

Search Strategy (Data sources, key terms, limiters (if any)

Summary of the literature:

• Highlight the overall strength of the evidence. (Refer to the CLEAR Model Evidence Analysis Grading Tool), click on the link below:

• Instead of stringing summaries of individual studies, group the studies according to common factors, such as methodological approach, specific findings, etc.
• Identify the strengths and gaps of knowledge for the topic.
• Summarize the current understanding of the subject based on the literature reviewed.

• What did you learn from this review?
• What recommendations would you make to other nurses who might address a similar issue?
