Great Catch!

I'd like to commend our nurses for catching a medication running at the wrong rate during bedside report. Bobby Payne and Kayla Wade identified a medication running incorrectly while they were giving bedside report at shift change. The patient had arrived to the unit not long before shift change and was very unstable. Lots of people were lending the nurse a hand to help stabilize her patient. During shift report the two nurses rate verified all meds running and found the error, fixing it immediately.   This is an outstanding example of why we do bedside report and review all meds during hand off.  Great job Kayla and Bobby. I'm so proud work with nurses that care about patient safety. Keep up the great work.
