Therapist works to improve patient access to facility
Blacksburg outpatient physical therapist Tyler Spahr noticed that patients that utilized assistive devices were having difficulty accessing the front entrance to the facility he was working in due to town regulations that limited ramps onto the sidewalk by the front door of the facility. He worked tirelessly for several months to find a solution to this issue in order to allow patients to have easier access to the clinic. He was able to coordinate with the town engineer, building managers and other individuals to create new loading/unloading zone for Carilion patients located by a ramp onto the sidewalk adjacent to the clinic entrance in an area which had previously been used for another purpose. Thank you Tyler for your commitment to helping our patients have better access to our facilities and taking positive action to create a solution!
