Dr. Nathaniel L. Bishop Named President Emeritus by Jefferson College BOD
Dr. Nathaniel L. Bishop has been named President Emeritus by the Jefferson College of Health Sciences Board of Directors. At an event held on June 28, 2019, Dr. Bishop was presented with a resolution by Board Chairman Mr. Stephen Musselwhite reading, "Whereas, Nathaniel L. Bishop, D.MIN., served with distinction as President of Jefferson College of Health Sciences from April 2010 to July 2019;
Whereas, Dr. Bishop, during his tenure as President of Jefferson College of Health Sciences was instrumental in the implementation and development of numerous baccalaureate and master level degree programs as well as a new doctor level program and the growth of the College by nearly five-hundred students;
Whereas, Dr. Bishop has provided strong leadership, strategic vision and positive guidance to Jefferson College of Health Sciences, allowing it to expand, enhance, and improve the opportunities and services available to the Roanoke Valley and surrounding communities;
Whereas, Dr. Bishop, has touched many lives and given generously of himself for the advancement of Jefferson College of Health Sciences;
Whereas, Dr. Bishop, because of his innate leadership qualities, successful community involvement, his belief, dedication, compassion and commitment to Jefferson College of Health Sciences, was a key player in facilitating the transaction of Jefferson College of Health Sciences to Radford University;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Board of Directors of Jefferson College of Health Sciences along with the College’s faculty, staff, students, and alumni express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Nathaniel L. Bishop, for his invaluable service to Jefferson College of Health Sciences, higher education, and the citizens of the Roanoke Valley; and
Be It Further Resolved, that Jefferson College of Health Sciences confer upon Dr. Nathaniel L. Bishop, the status of President Emeritus on June 28, 2019 and maintain a copy of the resolution as part of its permanent record.
