I Am Carilion: Chioma Princely

Chioma Princely, R.N., is one of the first international nurses who joined our organization through Avant Healthcare Professionals, a program that works to make long-term matches between internationally educated health care professionals and health care facilities in the U.S.

When she first learned about her placement with Carilion, she had never heard of Roanoke or Virginia. She took a leap of faith and moved from Nigeria and is now a permanent resident and full-time employee working in the PCU on 7 West at CRMH.

Not only did she decide to stay on as a permanent staff member, but she has also taken on a leadership position.

We currently have 28 international contract nurses on assignment within our organization and 12 nurses who have signed on permanently.
