Values Awards

The Carilion Clinic Values Awards were introduced in 2013 to recognize employees and teams who are exceptional examples of our values. One award is given for each Carilion value: collaboration, commitment, compassion, courage and curiosity. 

Categories

One individual or group will be recognized per category:

• The Collaboration Award recognizes those who work together with purpose to achieve shared goals.
• The Commitment Award recognizes those who demonstrate the highest in quality and service.
• The Compassion Award recognizes those who demonstrate that they care about what they do—and about others.
• The Courage Award recognizes those who stand up for what’s right, despite the challenges or consequences.
• The Curiosity Award recognizes those who demonstrate exceptional innovation, learning and improvement.

Eligibility and Guidelines

To be eligible for an award, nominees must:

• Be a Carilion Clinic employee on the date the award is given.
• Be well-rounded examples of all our values.
• Have achieved rating of Developing, Proficient or Advanced on the most recent performance appraisal.
• Have no active Disciplinary Actions.
• Maintain the certifications, licenses and employee health requirements necessary for their positions.
• For team awards, all team members must meet these criteria.
• Vice Presidents and above are not eligible.
