Be Ready to Choose Your 2027 Benefits!

Your annual benefits open enrollment is Tuesday, Nov. 3 through Tuesday, Nov. 17. This is the perfect time to review benefit options to choose what's best for you and your household.

Here are the highlights to help you prepare!

Benefits Highlights 

• Medical premiums for 2027 will not change—despite the continuous rise in healthcare costs. Premiums are based on your pay as of Monday, Oct. 4, 2026. If your pay changed during 2026, you may move into a different contribution tier for 2027.
• There will be some targeted medical and pharmacy plan changes.   
• Enhancements, at no additional cost to your premiums, are being made to the Aetna Voluntary benefit plans, which include Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity. 
• All other benefit premiums will remain unchanged for 2027, with the exception of Short-Term Disability (STD).

• Open Enrollment 2027 hub: The Open Enrollment 2027 hub is available here and in the Main Menu section on the Inside Carilion homepage. It has all the details you need to know about what's new or changing and how to successfully enroll in your 2027 benefits.
• Virtual Benefits Fair: Attend your own personal benefits fair! Visit vendor booths virtually—on your schedule, 24/7—to learn more about your benefits options. Find tools and resources at each booth from our plan carriers to help answer your benefits questions.
• ALEX®: Our interactive online benefits counselor once again has all the knowledge on 2027 benefits to help you make choices about important life events. Whenever you want to talk, ALEX will walk you through your benefits and rewards choices so you can make decisions based on personal and anticipated needs. Get to know ALEX on Oct. 28 and after.

The 2027 Open Enrollment Guide will be available to download from Inside Carilion when Open Enrollment launches. This printable PDF will provide step-by-step instructions for selecting your benefits in Workday and supplement the Open Enrollment 2027 hub to share with the people in your household who will help make benefit decisions.
