U.S. News & World Report Recognizes Carilion in 2026-27 Best Hospitals Rankings

U.S. News & World Report released its latest hospital rankings, and Carilion received several honors. Our flagship hospital, CRMH, maintained its ranking as “Best Hospital” in the region. 

CRMH was rated as high performing in 13 procedures and conditions:

• Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery
• Gynecological Cancer Surgery 
• Heart Arrythmia 
• Heart Attack 
• Heart Bypass Surgery 
• Hip Replacement
• Knee Replacement
• Leukemia, Lymphoma & Myeloma
• Lung Cancer Surgery
• Pacemaker Implantation
• Prostate Cancer Surgery
• TAVR

Of the 13 procedures and conditions, CRMH is proud to be rated as high performing in a new category this year: Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery. Additionally, CNRV earned high-performing status in Kidney Failure and Pacemaker Implantation.

Being recognized as high performing is the highest distinction (from U.S. News & World Report) a hospital can earn for a procedure and condition. It signifies that a specialty or procedure receives excellent clinical outcomes.
