Grow Our Own Talent - EMT class 9th edition
Carilion Clinic Patient Transportation's Grow Our Own Talent (GOOT) EMT Program welcomed its ninth class on July 6, 2026. Fourteen EMT Trainees are currently enrolled in the 10-week course, which meets every Monday and Wednesday at the Medical Office Building.
Throughout the program, students are gaining the knowledge and developing the skills necessary to become future Emergency Medical Technicians with Carilion Clinic Patient Transportation. In addition to classroom instruction, each trainee completes 12-hour ambulance ride-along shifts at one of CCPT's six bases. During these shifts, students work alongside experienced crews, applying their classroom learning and refining the skills needed to become successful EMS providers.
We are excited to have this outstanding group of EMT Trainees and look forward to watching them grow throughout the program as they prepare to serve our patients and communities.
