Life Support Educators Teach CPR to Miss Virginia Pageant Contestants

Thank you to Angela Witt, Crista Patterson, Claire Thielecke, Angela Steahly, Susan Carpenter, Wendy Meador, Delaney Basso, Essence Reynolds, and Kathy Crum for volunteering your time and expertise to support a CPR training for the Miss Virginia and Miss Teen Virginia pageant contestants.

Educators from the Life Support, Epic, and Clinical Education teams came together to provide hands-on CPR training, giving contestants the opportunity to learn lifesaving skills, practice with expert guidance, and demonstrate their knowledge using our RQI mobile carts.

The impact of the day extended far beyond the classroom. Many contestants shared that this was their first CPR training and expressed gratitude for gaining the confidence to respond in an emergency. One contestant shared a particularly powerful perspective—as a survivor of a cardiopulmonary arrest, she is alive today because others were trained in these very skills and took action when it mattered most.
