Plan Ahead for Traffic and Parking Changes at CRMH on Friday, July 3

The City of Roanoke will hold its annual Freedom Festival and fireworks display at the River’s Edge Park on Friday, July 3. Please allow extra time for travel and parking if you are working that day.

Parking Updates

For safety, rooftop parking will be closed at the following garages:

• The rooftop at Riverside Garage (VTCSOM) is already closed.
• Rooftop parking at Riverwalk Garage (the garage at CRMH with the bridge across the river) and McClanahan Garage (the new garage connected to the Crystal Spring Tower) will close beginning late Thursday night into Friday morning. Other levels of those garages will remain open.
• The rooftop at Crystal Spring Garage (the garage attached to the Crystal Spring MOB) will remain open until 4 p.m. on Friday.
• The Terrace View Garage (connected to CRMH via the tunnel) will not have any changes; rooftop parking there is always restricted to those with controlled access.

Street parking on Reserve Avenue will be restricted to ADA parking beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday.

Shuttle Service

Shuttles are available to help you. 

• Campus shuttle: 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Runs every 15 minutes between CRMH's main entrance, the Crystal Spring Tower, Crystal Spring MOB, ION and the Riverside campus
• On-call shuttle: 6:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • The on-call shuttle is available for employees and patients that need transportation among Carilion facilities. You can request the shuttle through any Guest Services member or by calling 540-529-1220.

Road Closures

The following roads will be closed during the evening hours on Friday, July 3:

• At 5 p.m.: Reserve Avenue between the hotel and the corner of Jefferson Street and Reserve Avenue
• At 9 p.m.: Jefferson Street from Reserve Avenue to CRMH 

All roads will open around 10 p.m. after an all-clear from the fire marshal.
