Avaya Downtime: Tuesday, June 9

On Tuesday, June 9, between 10 and 10:15 p.m., our Avaya phone system will be taken offline for a system upgrade. Affected phones will not be operational for 5 – 15 minutes. 

Specifically, the following services will be unavailable: incoming and outgoing calls, overhead paging, call forwarding, voicemail, and SpectraLink wireless phones. 

Several imporatant numbers, including Police and Security, will be impacted. Alternate numbers will be available during the event:

Carilion-issued and personal cell phones will work, as will non-Avaya phones, and our network will not be interrupted. The following areas will NOT be impacted: 

• Home Health and Hospice
• Behavioral Health/CONNECT
• MedComm in ED

Desktop Alertus banners will provide real-time updates about the timing of the planned disruption through its completion. You should follow downtime procedures during this time.
