World Hand Hygiene Day across the Carilion System!

On Tuesday, May 5, the IC team brought energy and enthusiasm across the system in celebration of World Hand Hygiene Day!

At RMH, Paddy and the team made rounds throughout the hospital, sharing sanitizer, lotion, stickers—and of course, valuable hand hygiene education. Over in New River, Ashley and Loren kept the momentum going, distributing hand hygiene goodies and connecting with staff across the facility. At CFMH, Franklin joined Angela and the team to show support and spread awareness, creating a lively atmosphere filled with giveaways and plenty of smiles. 

Meanwhile, in Giles, Christina engaged staff with interactive games designed to strengthen hand hygiene knowledge in a fun and memorable way. In Tazewell, Karen rounded throughout the facility, handing out hand hygiene supplies and connecting with staff. At our final stop, Summer brought the celebration to Rockbridge, treating the team to fun, engaging activities and meaningful education centered on hand hygiene.

It was a day full of collaboration, education, and a shared commitment to keeping our patients and teams safe—one clean hand at a time!
