Elsevier Clinical Skills Downtime and Password Reset
Update April 8: Elsevier Clinical Skills downtime is complete. Clinical staff who have not logged in since March 29 need to reset their password.

What: Clinical staff who have not logged in to Elsevier Clinical Skills (via Inside Carilion/Login site) since March 29 need to reset their password.
When: Starting Thursday, April 9, at 06:00 (6:00 a.m.)
Who: Clinical staff who access Elsevier Clinical Skills on Inside Carilion or at https://login.elsevierperformancemanager.com are affected.
Details: If you have not logged in to Elsevier, the site clinical staff uses for validation assignments, since March 29, please log in and reset your password. Starting Thursday, April 9, your old password will no longer work.
To reset your password, do the following:
- Go to Inside Carilion and click Elsevier Clinical Skills in the Tools area, or go to https://login.elsevierperformancemanager.com.
- In the Login field, enter your username.
- In the Password field, enter the temporary password as hello.
- Follow the prompts to reset your password and log in.
Notes: This only affects clinical staff who log in to Elsevier through Inside Carilion or at https://login.elsevierperformancemanager.com. Users who log in through Epic are not affected.
Previous downtime info:
Elsevier Clinical Skills has been the place where all validation assignments are made for clinical team members. All clinical new-hire and transfer orientation assignments are loaded into Elsevier during new hire weeks. These assignments need to be completed during orientation and annually.
Upcoming Downtime
Elsevier Clinical Skills on Inside Carilion will experience a downtime Monday March 30, 6 a.m. – Friday, April 3, 11:59 p.m.
This event is not part of routine maintenance. The extended time frame is to address critical changes needed to best support our organization. Please note that:
- Clinical staff using the log in site for validations will be affected.
- Any validation work completed during this period may not be recorded.
- Elsevier Clinical Skills access via Epic will not be affected and will be available for reference.
Regulatory Agency Requests
If you receive requests from regulatory agencies for competency, you should follow the normal process for notification of surveyor needs from HR Education and Organizational Development.
Annual Assignments
The Elsevier team will build and assign annual validations in Elsevier in the coming weeks following the downtime.
For questions, submit a request through the HR Education and Organizational Development Request Portal and select Elsevier Clinical Skills.
Elsevier Clinical Skills is where all validation assignments are posted for clinical team members.
Elsevier Clinical Skills on Inside Carilion will be down Monday, March 30, beginning at 6 a.m. through Friday, April 3, at 11:59 p.m.
Access via Epic will not be affected and will be available for reference.
