Celebrating Sarah Dooley's Retirement: 36 years of service, leadership, and heart

Submitted by jlhooper on

As Sarah Dooley prepares to retire at the end of this week, we celebrate an extraordinary 36‑year journey of service, leadership, and heart.

Sarah began her career in 1988 as a pediatric nurse on 7 West at CRMH, where her compassion and dedication were evident from the very start. In 2001, she expanded her impact as a nurse consultant, bringing her expertise beyond the bedside. She returned to CRMH in 2002, where she served as a research liaison in the Research department. Her career path continued as she became a Unit Director at CRMH, leading an adult unit for 10 years with steadiness, integrity, and a people‑first approach. In 2016, Sarah brought her wisdom and experience to the Women’s Department Quality team, where she has been a constant source of positivity, clarity, and calm.

Throughout every role, Sarah has been far more than “just” a nurse. She is a mentor, a servant leader, and a genuinely compassionate human being. She leads with humility, listens deeply, and brings a quiet strength that makes everyone around her better. She is truly a ray of light for our department, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Thank you, Sarah, for the countless ways you have shaped our teams, supported your colleagues, and improved care for so many. Your legacy is woven into this organization, and we are better because of you.

Wishing you a joyful, well‑earned retirement — with immense gratitude and admiration. 💙
