Leah Britton, Radiology Director, Awarded Carilion Clinic Challenge Coin

In recognition of outstanding service, Don Halliwill presented Leah Britton the Carilion Clinic Challenge Coin during the Systemwide Radiology Leadership Huddle on Thursday, January 22nd. Leah is recognized with the Carilion Clinic Challenge Coin for intervening in a tenuous patient situation, as well as demonstrating compassion, leadership and connection with her patients during their most vulnerable times. Because of her involvement and courage, Leah resolved a specific patient situation with empathy and deescalation, which preserved patient and staff safety. Don noted during the presentation, a rich history of challenge coins used to recognize bravery and valor in the military and other life-changing occupations. Don recognized Leah and presented her with two coins — one for herself and another to give to someone else!
