One Step You Can Take to Help Patients at CRMH
As we continue work of the brick facade of CRMH, we appreciate everyone's understanding and patience with road closures and pedestrian traffic changes.
Our teams, patients and visitors have adjusted to the changes, and we're seeing a few reoccuring traffic challenges that – with your help – can be easily addressed.
What We're Seeing
There are three parking garages adjacent to CRMH (click here for a campus map):
- Terrace View: The tallest garage with entrances on Hamilton Terrace and Belleview. This garage also has the underground tunnel connected directly to CRMH's West Lobby entrance.
- Riverwalk: The garage across the river, connected to the hospital via pedestrian footbridge.
- McClanahan: The newest garage at the corner of McClanahan attached to CRMH's Crystal Spring Tower.
Understandably with current road closures, staff are filling our Riverwalk and McClanahan garages first, and our largest garage (Terrace View) often sits partially empty.
As a result, many patients cannot easily find parking – particularly CVI patients visiting the Crystal Spring Tower who cannot walk far distances. We have increased regular and on-demand patient shuttle service to all garages and are working to reserve additional patient parking for these key areas.
How You Can Help
If able, please consider allowing a few extra minutes to navigate to and park in the Terrace View Garage (entering from Hamilton Terrace – see detour map below).
For first-time visitors, this garage can be more difficult to find. It would make a huge difference if staff prioritize Terrace View parking, keeping Riverwalk and McClanahan available for patients when able. In the colder months, this would also allow teams to use the heated tunnel to access CRMH directly, avoiding extra time in the winter weather.
We understand that parking can be difficult for everyone, and we appreciate your consideration as we try to find ways to best serve our patients.
Given current construction, certain parking garages are filling up with staff faster than others, making it difficult for patients to find parking in our closest garages.
Please consider allowing a few extra minutes to navigate to and park in our Terrace View Garage, reserving Riverwalk and McClanahan Garages for patients as able.
We understand that parking can be challenging for everyone, especially with road closures. This change, though, could make a big difference for patients who struggle walking further distances.
We have also increased regular and on-demand shuttle service for patients and continue to move forward with construction, working to reopen roads as soon as possible.
