Great Catches: Aija Saul’s Impact on Patient Care
The imaging team at CFMH is proud to recognize Aija Saul for her exceptional attention to detail and dedication to patient safety. Aija’s expertise and vigilance have directly contributed to improved patient outcomes and resource stewardship:
She identified a foreign body on a CT scan that had been overlooked by the radiologist. By collaborating with the ED provider, she ensured the patient received timely and appropriate care.
Aija also recognized that a suspected foreign body in a report was actually an imaging artifact, prevented future unnecessary studies, reduced radiation exposure, and saved the patient avoidable expenses.
She lastly detected a fracture in a non-verbal patient on a CT topogram, even though the incorrect leg had been ordered and xrayed, ensuring the correct diagnosis and treatment.
Aija’s contributions reflect the highest standards of clinical excellence, accuracy, and patient advocacy. We are grateful for her commitment to quality care and her invaluable role in safeguarding our patients’ well-being.
