Success with a pt on 9W

I could not be happier to share this info on the progression of a pt on 9W.  The pt had been in the hospital for over 60 days and after a major trauma.  The last 3o days or so was on 9W.  When he first arrived to 9W he was not talking, eating or walking.  Within 24hrs we had him pivoting to the chair with assistance.  By the time he left he was able to start walking with assistance, was talking to us in full sentences, and starting to eat again.  The day he left we gave him a big send off with all staff lining the halls and applauding him as he rolled out.  I couldn't be prouder of the staff on 9W and the work and care they put into their pts to improve day by day.  They are true pt advocates!
