CRMH Wins Environmental Excellence Award

Submitted by sewohlford on

A big congratulations to the incredible facilities teams at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) for receiving the 2024 Environmental Excellence Award – Platinum Level!

This recognition was awarded by the Virginia Water Environment Association (VWEA) Industrial Waste & Pretreatment Committee, following a nomination from the Western Virginia Water Authority. The award honors over five consecutive years of permit compliance, a testament to the team's commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.

From the VWEA:

“Carilion Clinic [CRMH] was nominated by the Western Virginia Water Authority and is a general medical and surgical hospital facility with a combined flow of approximately 275,000 gallons per day. They have low-flow plumbing fixtures throughout their facility and have all lab wastes removed by vendors for proper disposal. In addition to meeting their permit regulations, they practice electronic, refrigerant, scrap metal, and cardboard recycling.”

Thank you to all of the facilities team members for your dedication to keeping our buildings safe, our environment protected, and our communities healthy. This achievement reflects the values we live by every day.
