Taking a stand for infection prevention
Jared Coccia, RN from CRMH, 8MICU demonstrated vigilance and commitment to patient and staff safety. He initiated a crucial conversation in reminding a staff member to wash their hands with soap and water after exiting a Contact Special Enteric isolation room. The staff member replied that nothing was touched in the room, but RN Coccia was adamant about the importance of maintaining proper protocols. The staff member immediately recognized that infection prevention begins with the mindset of prevention which leads to active prevention behaviors which ultimately leads to prevention habits. RN Coccia is recognized for his outstanding attention to infection control and prevention and these actions, even small, make a big difference in preventing the spread of infection and keeping our patients and staff safe. RN Coccia, your leadership and courage to speak up are truly appreciated!!!
