Dr. Beth Polk - Recipient of the 2025 VAFP James P. Charleton, MD Teacher of the Year Award

Congratulations to Beth Polk, MD who has been named recipient of the 2025 Virginia Academy of Family Physicians James P. Charleton, MD Teacher of the Year award.  One of our FCM residency faculty, she is board certified in Family Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine (LM).  She currently practices in the FM Residency program where she has a LM consultation practice and oversees the LM Residency Curriculum to train residents to use LM as the foundation of their practice. She joins a distinguished list of past Carilion Clinic/VTCSOM recipients including James Thompson, MD, Tarin Schmidt-Dalton, MD, Mary Beth Sweet, MD, Cynda Johnson, MD, and Shyam Odeti, MD.  Well done, Dr. Polk!
