We Have Launched a Public Campaign to Transform Cancer Care in Southwest Virginia
On July 3, our organization took the stage at Roanoke’s Freedom Festival with an important message: we’ve launched the Reaching Far, Caring Close campaign to transform cancer care in Southwest Virginia—and we’re asking the community to help us raise the last $4 million to meet our $100 million goal. This campaign will help us bring the Carilion Taubman Cancer Center to life.
This milestone moment began with heartfelt stories from cancer survivors, who spoke about the care they received and the impact it had on their lives. Their stories set the tone for what followed—a powerful show of unity as our entire oncology team from Carilion and Blue Ridge Cancer Care was invited to the stage to help introduce the campaign to the public.
"This beautiful, state-of-the-art cancer center won’t be just a point on the map—it will be a beacon of hope and healing. A destination for world-class cancer care, serving not only Virginia but the entire region,” said Lindsay Collins, vice president of Oncology Services at Carilion
Over the past 6 years, we’ve raised $96 million, thanks to early donors and philanthropic partners. Now, the public has a chance to be part of this transformational effort.
No matter the amount, every gift brings us closer to making the Carilion Taubman Cancer Center everything our patients and community deserve. Your compassion and commitment inspire the generosity that’s bringing this vision to life—thank you for all you do.
