Maria Miguel Damian earns her US Citizenship!

On Thursday, May 28th Maria Miguel Damian officially became a US Citizen!

Along with her cousin Arlette, Maria was sworn in at a special ceremony at Red Hill, the last home and final resting place of Virginia’s first governor and American Revolution patriot, Patrick Henry. Adding to the historical backdrop, Patrick Henry’s 5th great grandson, Patrick Henry Jolly, attended as honored guest.

With support from Carilion and her leaders at EVS, Maria attended citizenship classes every week working hard to prepare for the interview and test. It was a long journey, and Maria was successful!
