Celebrating EMS Week!

The 2025 theme for EMS week is “We care. For everyone.”  This year’s EMS week theme underscores the universal mission of EMS: to provide compassionate care to our communities with unwavering dedication.

CCPT is one of the largest ground EMS agencies serving Southwest Virginia. From 911 calls and emergency inter-facility transfers to non-emergency transports, our ground teams log more than a million miles a year across Virginia and all surrounding states.  In addition to our ground basic/advanced life support teams, we also have a dedicated neonatal-pediatric critical care team, who provide highly specialized care to our smallest patients by ground and air.

Carilion Clinic Life-Guard, which was the first air ambulance service in Virginia, transports critically ill and injured patients from across the region delivering exceptional care under some of the most challenging circumstances. 

Coordinating efforts behind the scene, are our communications specialists and dispatch coordinators, who work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.  This team does it all, from flight operations and 911 call dispatching to insurance pre-authorizations. 

Lastly, a huge shoutout to our leadership teams, administrative support teams, and medical director, for the 24/7 support, guidance, and dedication that it takes to deliver on our mission of safety and exceptional quality.

It is time to celebrate EMS week, yes- but more importantly, let us take a moment to recognize the commitment, compassion, and courage of all EMS professionals who chose to care. For everyone.
