A Message of Gratitude from Chief Nursing Officer Tami Frost

As we bring Nurses Week to a close, I want to pause and say thank you, sincerely and wholeheartedly. Every day, in every corner of our organization, you bring skill, compassion, and strength to the patients, families, and communities we serve.

Whether you are at the bedside, coordinating care behind the scenes, or leading with purpose, you are the heart of Carilion Nursing. You are the reason people place their trust in us during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

Over the past year, we have celebrated many inspiring moments together. We have seen nurses go above and beyond to help patients fulfill final wishes, whether it was arranging a motorcycle ride, organizing a holiday celebration, or making space for a cherished family gathering. We have watched as patients, once broken in body and spirit, walked out of our hospitals because of your expert care and unwavering presence.

We also recognize that none of this happens in isolation. To our physician partners, advanced care providers, therapists, transport teams, environmental services staff, unit secretaries, food service workers, and so many others, you help create an environment where nurses can do their best work. Thank you for standing alongside us in this shared mission of care. Your collaboration and support are essential and deeply appreciated.
