Introducing a New Option for Secure Printing

Submitted by abshaver on

This month we will begin offering HP Advance Pull Printing to help keep information secure. With this option, you can send a document to any compatible Carilion HP multi-functional printer in your department and print it by tapping your Carilion proximity badge. You will still have the option to send print jobs to your specific networked printer for immediate printing.

Pull printing will be available for on-site and hybrid employees with individual Carilion devices. It will not be available for fully remote employees, shared/auto log-in devices or Macs.

The rollout will be phased. We will begin in mid-January with facilities in the Franklin County area and expect to finish by the end of February. The expected go-live dates are:

  • Franklin County area: Tuesday, Jan. 14
  • Lexington area: Tuesday, Jan. 28
  • Giles, New River Valley and Tazewell areas: Tuesday, Feb. 4
  • Non-CMC locations in the Roanoke area: Tuesday, Feb. 11
  • CMC locations: Tuesday, Feb. 25

Employees and/or leaders at the designated locations will receive a TSG Service Alerts email with the date Pull Printing is available at their location. Job aids will be included in those communications and are also available to download at the bottom of this article.
