9 Carilion Nurses Recognized by Virginia Nurses Foundation 40 Under 40 Award

The Virginia Nurses Foundation (VNF) presented 40 Virginia nurses who are under 40 years of age with the 40 Under 40 Award. Award winners were selected from a record number of nominations as one of Virginia's outstanding young registered nurse (RN) leaders, because of achievements in professional practice, leadership, and positive promotion and advancement of the nursing profession beyond the practice setting. "We are thrilled to recognize this group of exceptional young women and men who have excelled as nurses and as leaders in both the practice setting and in their communities,' said Janet Wall, VNA Chief Executive Officer. "Nursing clearly has a very bright future in Virginia". The following Carilion RNs received the 40 Under 40 award on September 22, 2018 at the VNF Gala in Richmond: Amanda Allen, Stephanie DeFilippis, Rachel Denny, Sarah Beth Dinwiddie, Shelly Feazell, and Melissa Wray. 40 Under 40 Honorable Mentions for Carilion employees went to Amanda Wrenn Brendel, Kristin Crouse, and Brandon Jones.
