Join us in celebrating Michael Barry - The Winner of the April 2024 BEE Award!

The BEE Award recognizes the extraordinary work of our nursing support staff who go above any beyond for our patients, their families, and our community. 

Michael Barry is a PCT on 10 Mountain PCU and was nominated during his time working in our Resource Pool here at CRMH. The nomination shared, "Michael Barry is a member of our Resource Pool.  For those unfamiliar with this department, these staff members are floated throughout the hospital to fill staffing needs as they arise.  Because of this, these staff members need to be flexible and adaptable.  Not only does Michael Barry possess these specific character traits, he also is incredibly kind and gracious. Resource pool staff sometimes get less than favorable assignments, getting assigned challenging patients.  Recently Michael has been assigned to sit with two very challenging patients.  In both of these situations, Michael has developed an incredible rapport with the patients.  He has gained their trust and seen beyond some of their stigmas. Tonight, there was one patient in particular who was having a rough night and needed some extra support.  After two failed safety sitters, I personally went and found Michael and asked him if he would be willing to change his assignment.  I knew the patient he was going to sit with was difficult, and yet Michael was upbeat and willing to swap.  In the room Michael approached the situation with both compassion and empathy, showing the patient great respect.  This is just one example of many in which Michael has been an extraordinary team members.  He is an incredible member of our team and we are lucky to get to work along side him.  Thanks for all you do for our patients Michael!  They are lucky to have you on their team!"
