Great Catch

A BIG Thank You to Anesthesiologist Matt Cross for catching a mistake in the PACU. A patient was rushed to the PACU from the ED with a sheet of incorrect patient labels. This nurse jumping in to help get the patient settled for Pre-op in the PACU after a very long and busy shift, mislabeled the patient's belongings bag and anesthesia consent document. Dr. Matt Cross noticed the incorrect labels, promptly pointing them out to me in the patient bay. Labels were checked against the patient's armband and correctly placed on the belongings and consent document. The incorrect labels were then shredded appropriately. Way to stay sharp after a night full of surgical cases!
