Notes of Distinction: Your March Accolades

Carilion Children’s received a 2024 Children's Hospital Play Grant from the Toy Foundation to fund sensory toy stations, arts and crafts programs, playroom and waiting area upgrades and other play therapy projects. 

Our Communications, Marketing and Planning team won Silver ADDY Awards for our A Day in the Life of a Hospice Music Therapist and Kaylee's Level 1 Trauma Survival videos and the Shine Awards animated graphics. 

Mia Hancock-Keeling was named Virginia school social worker of the year.

Our Cardiac Perfusion team is the first in Virginia to launch the new LivaNova Essenz heart-lung bypass machine. 

Our new Orthopaedic Surgery Residency program launched in March; we now have 30 active and growing residency programs.

CFMH’s energy efficiency efforts earned them the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star certification for the second time.
