CRMH Electrical Upgrade Planned for June 12; Here’s What It Means for You
On Wednesday, June 12, from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m., we will upgrade CRMH’s power source.
This is the fourth planned update to the hospital’s power grid; the first three were in February, April, and May and went smoothly thanks to the engagement and collaboration of teams across Carilion.
During the upgrade’s 3-hour window, the hospital will be on full generator power for about 45 minutes, and there will be planned periodic outages/downtimes at CRMH.
We will push out updates through Inside Carilion, Teams and Everbridge. Be sure that you have the latest app installed if you’d like to receive the Everbridge alerts.
Here are some reminders ahead of the upgrade:
- Plug your unit’s critical equipment into red outlets.
- Make sure you can access your downtime procedures and continuity plans ahead of the event.
- Elevator availability will be reduced. If appropriate, please consider using stairs to leave open elevators available for patient transport.
- Lighting may be reduced. Prepare accordingly with your unit.
Operational leaders are meeting regularly with event facilitators to prepare, sharing planned impacts with frontline teams. Throughout the morning of the event, an Alertus banner will display on the top of CMC desktop screens, and Inside Carilion will have an alert page sharing real-time updates.
If the event is postponed or extended for any reason, we’ll provide updates on Inside Carilion and using Everbridge. If you have any issues or concerns ahead of or during the event, please work with your manager.
