Active Directory Account and Password Management

Your Active Directory (AD) user name and passphrase are used to log into your Carilion Clinic computer, EPIC, Exchange, Spark, My Total Access, Inside Carilion, Lawson, Edison, etc. Use the links below to reset, change or unlock your AD passphrase. Note: For security purposes, AD passphrases expire every year.

*TIP:  AD passphrases are case sensitive and must meet the following requirements:

• All user-level and system-level passphrases must conform to 15-character minimum and 64-character maximum passphrase using a combination of upper-and lower-case letters.

• Spaces are acceptable. A passphrase is a string of words that may form a sentence or other series of words in a certain context that are memorable to the user.

• Examples include "Correct Horse Battery Staple" or "Red chairs in dining room". Refrain from frequently used or famous quotes or common phrases such as nursery rhymes or song lyrics.
• TSG or the owner of the specific application will issue the initial user ID and password. Users must change their initial password to protect their identity.
