We recently invited you to “share the love” through Employee Extras by expressing appreciation for those you work with every day.

You shared nearly 300 responses, each offering sweet words of gratitude and respect.

• "Shout out to Barbara Gilbert who is always taken on additional work projects with a smile on her face. She is a great asset to our Martinsville team!!

• "A big shout out to Sherry Miles at CNRV Facility Support Services. I send a lot of room reservation requests to Sherry for various units and committees and she keeps us running smoothly. She is so quick to respond and I love her "can do" attitude. Sherry, you are amazing!!"

• "I am so grateful for the wonderful physical therapy I have received from Laura Rapp over the past year. I learned today of her promotion to Director of Inpatient Rehab. Such terrific news! Although I will miss her taking care of me, I'm so thrilled for her to embark on this great new opportunity. Looking forward to continuing to cross paths with her in her new leadership role."

She works on medically compromised adults and individuals with health concerns, she makes each patient feel special and cared for, working through lunch and past her scheduled time to make sure her patient's needs are met. Her work ethic is admirable."

• "Shauna Loan goes above and beyond her regular expectations. She helps training new employees in a manner that they feel very comfortable asking her questions. She makes them feel that they are welcome and needed. She assists other staff members when they get behind. She is able to bounce to different job duties such as front desk ,scheduling ,referrals whatever needs to be done. Providers that she works with have acknowledged her that she stays on top of things to promote proper care. She is a great person for Carilion to have employed and a very awesome person to be around!!"
