International Infection Prevention Week

October 15-21, 2023  is International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW),  an annual observance to recognize the importance of infection prevention in improving healthcare and saving lives. Carilion Clinic IPC joins the world in celebrating the incredible work IPs do to enhance patient, healthcare personnel and environmental safety. This year's theme is is “Celebrate the Fundamentals of Infection Prevention” which highlights the importance of basic practices to protect patients and healthcare workers. We are hosting and delivering educational activities throughout the week across all hospitals and on the Infection Control Hub.
