Riley Jensen--Outstanding Preceptor Award Winner
On September 27th, the Nursing Center of Excellence presented the Outstanding Preceptor Award to Riley Jensen, RN from 8MICU at CRMH. Members from the Nursing Center of Excellence presented him with the award alongside his team members and nursing leaders. His nomination read, "Riley has a presence and practice of utmost quality. Consistently looking out for the team on the unit, as a given, and being a bulwark of expertise and knowledge, this aspect was magnified to me as preceptee and allowed me to grow and build my practice with security knowing I had the supervision of a true professional. Patient care was always priority and Riley made sure to fill in the gaps in my practice with feedback in the moment, making sure that we were giving safe, quality care, and making sure I was understanding the clinical reasoning. Check ins at multiple times throughout a shift with an opportunity for a debrief at the end of shift speaks to his dedication to the process. Riley is an incredible nurse and I will owe much of my practice to him, which I’m proud of." Riley's commitment and compassion toward not only his patients, but also to his Carilion Clinic family, deserves to be recognized and celebrated. Congratulations!
